In Division A, it was 2x National Champion Zane Lewis who made a statement, proving he’s back in championship form. Lewis, alongside new partner Phil Miller, took the victory in dominant fashion—highlighted by Miller’s incredible hole-in-one, adding even more excitement to an already thrilling event.

2024 Rookie of the Year, Jerell Fields, continued his strong play, securing a second-place finish after a playoff win with teammate Troy Kennedy. They edged out first-time BAG Tour competitors Stone Dyson & Logan Hefner, who made an impressive debut. With River Oaks as their home course and the next Tour stop, Dyson & Hefner have already put the field on notice as players to watch.

Preseason favorites Dominick Vinnarri and Andrew Watkins showed flashes of their potential but needed a few more putts to drop to truly contend. Meanwhile, Cory Martin, a BAG Tour household name, had a slow start but will look to bounce back strong next month at River Oaks

Division B delivered a thrilling three-way playoff, showcasing just how deep and competitive this field is. In the end, it was first-time competitor and former PGA Tour caddie Nick Huey, alongside Dustin Newman, who emerged victorious.

They outlasted Division B heavyweights and pre-round DraftKings odds favorites, Alex Hunter & Frank Garcia, as well as Tour CEO Andrew Keene and his partner Zach Lawing, in a high-pressure finish. While Hunter & Garcia remain a dominant force, a new team is emerging as a serious contender—Wayne Carver & Brian Harris, who stayed in the hunt all day before falling short late in the round.

Another team to watch in the division is Kyle Moffitt & Brandon Halsley, who controlled the leaderboard with Keene & Lawing for most of the day before slipping down the stretch. Meanwhile, the division was packed with a mix of rising stars and Tour veterans, including newcomer Tommy Monteverdi and seasoned competitors like Casey Brighton & Michael Tobias, who will look to rebound at River Oaks.

Based on scoring from the Season Opener, AJ Clark & Andres Casasco have been relegated back to Division C for River Oaks.

With a field this deep and no clear runaway favorites, Division B is set to be one of the most exciting battles all season

Division C kicked off the 2025 season with a dominant performance from NASCAR commentator Steve Letarte and his partner Bryan Goodwin. Letarte picked up his first BAG Tour victory, while Goodwin added another win to his growing collection, as the duo controlled the competition from start to finish. Pre-round favorites Chris Grindstaff & Kevin Demeny put up a strong fight but couldn’t match the consistency of Goodwin’s pinpoint iron play and Letarte’s “red-hot” putter, which proved to be the difference-maker.

New pairings Dallas Honeycutt & Austin Lauer and Scott Brotherton & 2024 Tour Champion Dylan Jones showed great promise, staying in the hunt for most of the day before falling just short. Meanwhile, Hunter Coggins & Jordan Davis and Dylan Hampton & Clint Harris hovered around mid-pack and will be looking to take it up a notch at River Oaks.

Fan-favorite Caleb Tench teamed up with Jacob Faggert, and while they showed flashes of potential, they’ll be focused on building consistency throughout the season. One of the biggest highlights of the week was the return of BAG Tour household name and fan favorite, “The Polish Hammer” Nick Nedvesky, who was just happy to be back out on the course, shaking off the rust.

With a stacked Division C field, River Oaks is shaping up to be another must-watch event. Will Letarte & Goodwin keep the momentum rolling, or will another team step up to take control?

For Fred Heintz & Rob Grundell, the wait is over! After knocking on the door late last season, the duo broke through to capture another BAG Tour victory in Division D. Heintz, the Late Night Special Lead, has been making waves in the division, and this win puts the entire field on notice—he and Rob put in the offseason work, and it’s paying off.

Newcomer Lou Meagher made an impressive Tour debut, securing a P2 finish and proving he’s a name to watch in the division. Meanwhile, Austin Ford & first-time competitor Eddie Caldwell showed flashes of consistency but struggled with the putter late.

It was a tough day for some of the big names and fan favorites in Division D, as a few key players just couldn’t find their best game—that’s golf! Local racing legend Kyle Strickler & Austin Bloom came out firing and were neck and neck with Division D powerhouses Eric Molyneaux & Jim Goff until the windy conditions turned the back nine into a test of survival, making it tough to hit greens.

Pre-round favorites Cory Lane & Jonathan Stewart stormed out to an early lead, despite a costly double bogey on No. 1, but couldn’t maintain control down the stretch, ultimately slipping out of contention on the back nine.

With the first event in the books, the Division D competition is heating up, and all eyes turn to River Oaks next month—who will step up next?
