Mooresville Classic Recap – BAG Tour
Outerlinks Series Finale
The Mooresville Classic brought the curtain down on the four-event Outerlinks Series, which kicked off at The Peninsula Club, rolled through Cowan’s Ford and Fripp Island, and ended with an unforgettable showdown at Mooresville Golf Club.
The Series race came down to three front-runners — Joe Helmick, Andrew Keene, and Anthony Redden. The math was simple: the title was Joe’s to lose unless Andrew or Anthony could pull off an outright win in their flight. That set the stage for one of the most high-stakes finishes we’ve ever seen on Tour.

In Division A, it was rookie sensation DeJuan Powell who continued his red-hot streak, capturing his second Division A victory of the season. Powell, a clear Rookie of the Year candidate, battled it out all weekend with Coston Fogleman, who’s making a late-season surge toward a Tour Championship bid. With momentum on his side, Powell now has the chance to make history next week at The Cardinal — going back-to-back in Division A, a feat accomplished by only a handful of golfers in the Tour’s six-year history.

Division B was the main event of the weekend — and it didn’t disappoint. Anthony Redden, needing nothing short of a win to capture the Outerlinks title, found himself in a three-way playoff with Mike Thornburg and Stone Dyson, both still chasing their first Tour wins of the year. When the pressure mounted, Redden rose to the moment — outdueling both challengers to take home not only the Division B victory, but also the Outerlinks Series Championship.

Division C was another thriller, led most of the day by Andrew Keene and Kyle Padilla. Keene needed an outright win to keep his Series hopes alive, but back-to-back doubles on holes 17 and 18 derailed his run. Padilla looked poised to cruise to victory until Daniel Barrett caught fire, draining three straight birdies on 16, 17, and 18 to force a sudden-death playoff. In the end, it was Padilla who prevailed, picking up his first win of the season in dramatic fashion.

And just when we thought the drama was over, Division D delivered one more playoff to close the book on the Outerlinks Series. David Goldmintz and country music sensation Austin McNeill went head-to-head in a gritty battle for their first career wins. It all came down to a clutch putt on the fourth playoff hole, where Goldmintz buried it to seal the victory and cap off an unforgettable day at Mooresville.
What a battle. What a day. What a Series.
The Outerlinks may be complete, but the Tour rolls on — next stop, The Cardinal, where the season-long race for the On Point Golf Series Championship continues.
