Local Legend & Buca Belts Athlete, Wayne Carver, has been named the 2022 Champion Golfer of the Year on the BAG Tour after winning the Tour Championship and the Season Long Points Race.
Carver’s journey to the top of the BAG Tour has been a long and storied one. He has been a regular competitor on the tour all season, and his hard work and determination have finally paid off. This win is a testament to his consistent performances throughout the season and his ability to come out on top in a highly competitive field.
Carver’s win at the Tour Championship was particularly impressive, as he was able to hold off a strong field of competitors to claim the title by holing a 5′ Birdie Putt on 18 to seal the deal. His steady play and ability to stay focused under pressure were key factors in his victory.
Carver’s win also marks the first time that a Local Legend Athlete has won the BAG Tour’s Champion Golfer of the Year award. This achievement is a significant one, as it shows that players from all skill levels, all backgrounds and all walks of life can compete and excel at a high level.
This was Wayne’s rookie season on Tour and he becomes only the 2nd Rookie ever to be crowned the Champion Golfer of the Year. He participated in all 15 Tournaments this season and picked up a league leading 4 wins. Wayne picked up wins at The Caddiebike Classic, The Mooresville Classic, The Cherokee Classic as well as the Tour Championship at Talamore.
