Players are gearing up for the first individual stroke play event of the season at the always challenging, Mooresville Golf Club. 72 players will tee it up over two days in the 36 hole competition. This tournament is expecting to draw a large field full of talent including 3 of last year’s winners who are looking to defend their title’s.
The Young Phenom will return to defend his solo victory from the 2022 season in Division A. The 2022 Mooresville Shootout was Zane’s first and only win of the season which came in dramatic fashion in a playoff hole against divisional rival, Cory Martin. Cory and Zane always seem to play good at Mooresville and look to continue their hot streak against a very talented division of opponents.
The Santee Sleeper picked up his first win of the 2022 season at the Mooresville Shootout and looks to continue his dominance of Division B. However, he will have his hands full this year as Division B has become one of the strongest divisions on Tour. This year’s field will be loaded with talent including Kevin Demeny, Ed Snyder, Alex Hunter, Dylan Jones & Drake Foster to name a few.
5 Pointz Golf athlete, Nate Johnson will be the 3rd player looking to defend his title in a few weeks at the Mooresville Shoot-out. Nate took the Tour by storm in his rookie season picking up a league leading 4 wins and winning the 2022 Breakthrough Player of the Year award by a landslide. It will be interesting to see if this is Nate’s last start in division D as we expect him to make the jump to Division C soon if his game continues to trend in the right direction.
