What's New for 2026

BAG Tour Season Format Overview

1. 16-Event Season-Long Points Race

The 2026 BAG Tour will once again feature a 16-event season-long points race, culminating in the crowning of one National Champion and winner of the BAG Tour Cup.

Consistency across the full season is rewarded, with every event contributing to the overall points standings.

2. Four (4) Bonus Series – $1,000 Each

Within the 16-event schedule, the season is divided into four separate 4-event series.

  • Each series crowns one winner
  • $1,000 bonus payout per series
  • Series run concurrently within the season-long points race
  • 5 Pointz, On Point, Outerlinks, Meagher Real Estate (4 Series Sponsors)

This format creates multiple championship moments and additional earning opportunities throughout the year.

3. NEW: BAG Tour Playoff Format

The 2026 season introduces an all-new BAG Tour Playoff System, adding elevated stakes and strategy late in the year.

Regular Season (Events 1–11)

  • Events 1–11 serve as the regular season
  • National point standings after Event 11 determine the Top 15 Tour Championship Captains
  • Remaining players outside of the Top 15 will continue to fight for their spot in the Top 60 throughout the playoffs.

Playoffs (Events 12–15)

  • Captains’ points reset after Event 11
  • Events 12–15 serve as playoff events focused on Tour Championship draft seeding

After each playoff event, the lowest-scoring captains are locked into draft position, as follows:

  • After Event 12 → Draft Picks 15–12 locked in
  • After Event 13 → Draft Picks 11–8 locked in
  • After Event 14 → Draft Picks 7–4 locked in
  • Event 15 → Remaining three captains compete for Picks 1, 2, and 3

4. Tour Championship – Drafted Team Format

The Tour Championship will feature the Top 60 players from the season.

  • Top 15 players become captains
  • Captains draft their 4-man teams
  • Draft order determined entirely through playoff performance

This format rewards season-long success while introducing strategy, leadership, and team competition at the highest level.

5. “Winner Stays Up” Matches

The BAG Tour is expanding competition beyond tournaments bringing back season-long “winner stays up” matches, giving players more ways to compete and be featured during the season.

Match formats may include:

  • Head-to-Head
  • 2v2 Matches
  • 4v4 Team Matches

These matches will be filmed and shared across BAG Tour platforms, allowing players to build their profile, tell their story, and compete outside the scorecard.

Participation is optional and designed as an added competitive and media opportunity.

6. BAG Tour Match Play Brackets

The popular BAG Tour Match Play Brackets return for 2026.

  • Optional sign-up
  • Single-elimination format
  • Cash & Sponsor Prizes
  • Head-to-head competition running alongside the season crowning Divisional Matchplay Champs.

Perfect for players who thrive in pressure situations and are seeking more one-on-one competition.

THE BIG PICTURE

From season-long points races and bonus series to playoffs, winner-stays-up, matchplay brackets and the team championship, the 2026 BAG Tour delivers the most complete competitive golf experience yet.

This is where competition lives.
