Carolina Coastal Classic at Tidewater

2025 Carolina Coastal Classic Recap
Presented by the BAG Tour | OnPoint Golf Series Event #2 of 4

The 2025 Carolina Coastal Classic brought the heat to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, delivering two unforgettable days of golf, grit, and glory at the immaculate Tidewater Golf Club. As our second OnPoint Golf Series event of the season, this 2-day team format drew elite pairings and fierce competition across all divisions—each vying for big checks, bragging rights, and critical points in the national standings.

Course Conditions & Atmosphere

From tee to green, Tidewater was in championship form—lightning-fast greens, smooth fairways, and postcard-worthy views around every corner. With weather that held just long enough and a field packed with hungry competitors, the stage was set for an epic showdown across all three divisions.

Division A: Watkins & Vennari Make History

The dynamic duo of Andrew Watkins and Dominick Vennari etched their names into the BAG Tour record books this weekend. With laser-focused consistency and a clutch Sunday finish, they became the first two-man team to win multiple events this season.

For Dominick Vennari, this win marked his third victory of the year—including back-to-back titles—vaulting him to #1 in the national standings. If there were any doubts about who’s running the show in Division A, they’ve been put to rest.

Division B: Garcia & Bornack Dominate Again

Frank Garcia and Dave Bornack teamed up for what looked like a Division B masterclass. With precision play and undeniable chemistry, they left little doubt about their potential as a future powerhouse. The win keeps Frank Garcia atop the OnPoint Series leaderboard, though just barely.

With another commanding performance under their belts, the big question is: Are they ready for Division A? All signs point to yes—and the rest of the field is on notice.

Division C: Team Double A Finds Their Groove

After a slow start to the season, Austin “The Sauce” Cureton and BAG Tour Founder & CEO Andrew Keene found their rhythm just in time. With a late Sunday surge, Team Double A rallied from behind to claim their first win of the season, edging out the always-entertaining Shake N Bake Sports Team by two strokes.

It was a signature win that combined heart, hustle, and a little of BAG Tour magic on top.

What’s Next?

We roll straight into another fan-favorite stop as we head to The Club at Irish Creek for Event #2 of 4 for the DraftKings Sportsbook Series. This time, it’s Individual Stroke Play, and the field is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet.

Can Vennari keep his streak alive? Will a new contended rise in Division B? Can anyone stop The Sauce? Will the Layne Train get back on track in Division D?
Stay tuned—because on the BAG Tour, every shot counts.
