Mike Klyn, a former USC Gamecock golfer, is a dark horse candidate on the BAG Tour who may be flying under the radar for many, but has a serious chance to win Champion Golfer of the Year honors. Klyn has been quietly working his way up the ranks on the tour, picking up two wins, consistently finishing in the top 10 and slowly climbing the leaderboard.
Klyn’s game is well-rounded, with a strong emphasis on his short game and his ability to hit the ball long and straight off the tee. He has a steady and consistent swing, which has helped him to minimize mistakes and keep his score low.
Despite not being a household name on the tour yet, Klyn has the experience and skillset to be a formidable opponent. His background as a USC Gamecock has given him the opportunity to compete at the highest level of college golf, which has prepared him well for the competition on the BAG Tour. Reports have surfaced that he has been grinding hard this off season working on his consistency & mental game, which are key aspects in being able to compete at the highest level.
Mike picked up his first win on Tour at the Brights Creek Championship and finished things off at the 2022 Regular Season Finale with another win at Rocky River. We see Mike as a player that has what it takes to knock the Santee Sleeper off his throne for the divisional title and even compete for Champion Golfer of the Year if he can put together the right schedule this season.
