ROUND 1 RECAP:
Jon Garcia defeated rookie Mo Galal in a competitive first round matchup. Kyle Padilla and Bryan Beasley came down to the wire at Verdict Ridge, site of the 2023 Season Opener. Caleb Tench and rookie, Cameron Deese battled out at the Warrior Golf Club which always presents a challenge for golfers and it was no different for their match. Both players didnt have their best stuff but ultimately Tench squeezed out the Victory Late.
Fleetwood played out of his mind and pulled off the big upset against the pre round betting favorite, Scott Helfrich. This sets up a great Round 2 Matchup between Fleetwood & Tench which will be one to keep an eye on. Carver slides past Caleb Harbin who was forced to W/D once the bracket had already begun. Lucky break for Carver and we will see if he can carry that luck into his next matchup against Cory Lane who defeated Mike Meadows in an absolute battle that came down to the last putt at Irish Creek.
Scott Brotherton brought his A game and picked up the victory over Ryan Peeler at Mooreville Golf Club and to round things out, Trevor Hogeland defeated 2022 Breakthrough Golfer of the Year, Nate Johnson in a close battle out at the Warrior Club in China Grove.
