Chris Grindstaff of Bentgrass CBD was named the newcomer of the year for the 2022 season. Chris had perfect attendance and didnt miss an event all season long.
His debut was at the Verdict Ridge Season Opener where he put together a respectable 4th place finish with his teammate, Wayne Carver. Chris and Wayne were a dynamic duo all season long securing their first team win at the Caddiebike Classic at Olde Beau.
Halfway through the season, Chris and Wayne parted ways as teammates to see what else was out on the horizon. Chris ultimately brought his son Colby along and Wayne established a new partnership with Brandon Fields.
After the breakup, these two battled it out every week in the Amateur Division finding themselves on top of the leaderboard and in great position for a shot at the Season Points Title.
At the Tour Championship, former teammates Chris and Wayne would reunite as they were drafted to the same team, which ultimately ended Chris’s dream run of winning the Season Long Points Race in his rookie season. However, once it was all said and done, these two buddies played their tails off to help each other finish on top, taking 1st & 2nd in the overall season long points race. Not bad for two rookies!
